My portrait

I think this is a good picture because the tree adds a little to the portrait but doesn't take away. i need to make his face lighter so that you are more attrcted to the face.

2.)Favorite photographer and why.
my favorite photographer was Stanfield. I liked his approach because he uses many different points of view. his portraits of people are very intresting and he uses them and thier surroundings to tell about them.

3.) Favorite photograph and why.
my favorite picture was the lion with the sunset behind him. i liked it because he was the main focus and there was nothing distracting around it. I also like how you could tell the wind was blowing by the way his mane was shifted to one side and looked caught in the wind. I also like that the lion seems to be looking at you.

4.)photographs that helped reinforce ideas discussed in class. describe 2
      One of the pictures used rule of thirds by having a cougar slinking next to a log. the cougar was off to the side and that is using rule of thirds. Another idea is portraying a message which a lot of the portraits show by the people and their surroundings.

What makes a great portrait?

I think many things play into a good portrait. First there should be an interesting background and a good angle. Also I think that even if the person isnt looking at you it can still look good with a good background and good lighting it would just be different and possibly more interesting. Also dont have the person right in the middle of the picture use rule of thirds to make it more interesting.

my framing

i like this picture because of how the leaves and prat of the tree frame the rooster. i need to get the leaves more focused so that it is a more clear framed picture.

 i like this picture because the framing is natural. The two trees frame the lake and the trees in the background making you look at that part.

 i like this picture because the framing part is an interesting shape. it frames the house and what is around it.

 i like this picture because of how it is framed. it looks good because the stairs frame her instead of looking through something like a window they used the stairs.

i like this picture because of the little and big hand and the texture of both. I also like how the light shines behind them. I can work on having less distractions in the background.

 i like this picture because you see hands and feet and you can see the texture of the smooth baby feet and the texture of the hands.

 i like this picture because there is the hands and the feet and then the flower which helps draw towards where the hands and feet meet.

 i like this picture becasuse you can see all the texture in the persons hands. Also there is good lighting that draws you eyes to the hands with no distractions.

 I like this picture because it is simple and the feet are the only focus. Also you can see the lines on the bottom of the feet adding texture.

 i like this picture because the eye is drawn to the hands and feet right away because they are light on a dark background. Only seeing the hands and feet makes it interesting.

my rule of thirds

i like my rule of thirds because she is off to the side, not in the middle.Also her eyes are up above the middle making it more interesting.

 This photo is a good rule of thirds because the puppy is off to the side not right in the center making it a more intresting picture.

 This picture uses rule of thirds in a different way. It has a different object in each part of the picture and it looks better than just the rocks or water. I like how you can seee the rocks, water, mountains, and sky.

 i like this picture of rule of thirds because the eyes draw your attention because the arnt right in the middle and are dark. This picture uses rule of thirds twice by having the lamb off to the side and the eyes up on the focal point between middle and top.

 This picture uses rule of thirds by having the two horses to the side and not right in the middle. This makes it look cool and like the horses walked into the picture not a pose in the middle.

 this photo is simple but having the flower between middle side and bottom makes the pictur more intresting using rule of thirds.

My conveying a message

I like this picture i took for conveying a message and it does show happiness. I need to work on making it more focused on his face so the eye goes there and i need to work on the lighting.

I think this photo portrays a feeling of peace. It looks like the baby is sleeping peacfully his eyes are closed and he has a smile.Also the soft look of the thing he is laying on helps give it the peaceful nice look.
I like this picture becasue of how the dog peers around the corner.The picture paints a message of intrest the dog looks intrested. With the dog looking from behind something and the way his eyes are adds to the picture.

 I like this picture becasue it looked cool. I think it shows a sense of danger. You see down the road and there are dark big clouds in the sky, and it makes it look like a darker photo.


I like this picture becasue of the fog rising against the stones . i think this shows an errie feeling. The fog with the dark rocks make it look this way.

 This picture shows dominance. The one dog that is standing over the one on the ground is showing dominance because the other one is submiting to him.
